Parental involvement helps enhance your child's growth and development. The strength of parents, teachers, and students working together is a key to continuous growth. As I wish that a parent or guardian of each student could be involved, I respect that this dream is not a reality for many families but would like the chance to make accommodations so your involvement is possible. There a a variety of ways for you to be involved in your students education. I am open to your ideas too!
Volunteering in our classroom is a great way that would contribute to not only your child but also other children's education who potentially do not have parents that are able to be involved in their child's education. When volunteering in our classroom you will get the chance to be involved in the lessons children are learning. You will help by assisting the students in a variety of ways. While we would appreciate parent volunteer's we have to be courteous of other parents wanting to be involved as well. Having multiple parents in the classroom at once can be over stimulating and therefore have a negative effect on student's education. I ask that one parent volunteers at a time unless it is a special occasion such as a holiday. Parents should take turns volunteering allowing every parent wanting to be involved a chance. You will sign up to volunteer through sending an email to me telling me the specific day and time you wish to volunteer. I will post a monthly calendar listing the days and parents assigned throughout the month. Prior to each month I will send out dates and times that are available to sign up for. We will not be having parent volunteers everyday to ensure that the students recieve consistency in their schedules and learning throughout the year.
Other potential ways to volunteer:
Lunch & learn
Book fair
Carnival
Conferences
Math night
Read aloud
I am open to your ideas as well! Please communicate with me your availability!
As a parent you should establish goals of your student and their education. Once these goals are established, they should be shared with both your student and I. Your educational goals for your student cannot be accomplished if they are unaware of what they are working on. Your willingness to participate is appreciated!
